After forging the blade, we heat it to critical temperature and anneal to slowly cool the blades relieving any stored tension from forging. The blades are then rough ground for the triple quench and triple temper. We chose this lengthy process to ensure each blade achieves maximum edge retention, while remaining nearly effortless to re-sharpen. After 3 cycles of tempering the blades are finish ground and ready for guards and handles.
